Details & Tips to Enhance Your Experience

Cigars, Bourbon & Benefactors is designed to be refined, relaxed, and welcoming. Below you’ll find answers to common questions to help you arrive prepared, comfortable, and ready to enjoy the evening.

Is there an age restriction?
Yes — this is strictly a 21+ event.

Does the event name encourage heavy drinking?
No. Cigars, Bourbon & Benefactors is about celebrating craftsmanship, connection, and community — not excess. The evening is designed for thoughtful tasting, good conversation, and meaningful support for the Child Advocacy Center. We encourage guests to enjoy responsibly, savor the experience, and leave with great memories (and clear heads).
Please review our Non-Drinking & Responsible Drinking Policy.

Is this a seated dinner?
No. The evening is designed for movement and mingling. Chef-driven small plates are served at multiple stations throughout the venue, so you can explore at your own pace. Most guests stand and socialize; a limited number of cocktail tables are available.

Am I expected to donate?
This is a fundraiser — but our rule of thumb is simple: “All may, some should, none must.”
Come enjoy the evening, learn about the Child Advocacy Center, and participate in whatever way feels right to you. If you choose to give, you can make a pledge, bid in the auction, or purchase raffle tickets. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards.

If you accept checks and credit cards, why do you recommend bringing cash?
We accept cash, checks, and credit cards for pledges, auction winnings, and standard raffle tickets.

We also offer Playing Card Raffles, which add a little spontaneity (and a lot of fun) to the night. You purchase one half of a playing card; if your half matches the drawn half, you win the item. Each raffle is limited to 52 cards, and cash is required for these raffles due to their real-time, pop-up nature. Cards are priced at either $20 or $100 depending on the item, and you may purchase up to 52 cards, subject to availability.

Where do I park?
Mission Farm is located at 2702 Devine Rd., Iron Station, NC 28080.
Law enforcement officers will guide you to designated parking areas. We strongly encourage carpooling, having a designated driver, or arranging transportation in advance. (Rideshare availability is limited and not guaranteed.)

Do you host the event rain or shine?
Yes. We cancel only for life-threatening weather. Mission Farm offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, so we can adapt comfortably to changing conditions. If portions of the event move indoors, the setting will be more intimate — but just as enjoyable.

What if I have unanswered questions?
We’re happy to help. Please reach out anytime.

Is this a formal event?

Leave the tie and stilettos at home — think stylish, not stuffy.

Dress like you would for a great first date, not the beach or the bleachers. Nice jeans or tailored shorts are perfectly appropriate. You’ll move between bourbon bars, the pavilion, and the lawn, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a light layer in case the evening breeze joins the party. A little preparation pairs well with good bourbon.

Mission Farm

Mission Farm is a beautiful venue with a casual, rustic feel and just the right amount of charm. The 90-acre property with breathtaking views is conveniently located just outside of Charlotte, in the small town of Iron Station, North Carolina. This venue provides ample parking, a large covered pavilion, open-air patios, lawn space, a silo bar, outdoor woodburning fireplace, and fully enclosed barn, in the event of inclement weather. Of course, the converted horse trailer bar and exotic cars will remain centerpieces of the event.
